How to make a Funeral Memorial Video

The thought of having to a create a funeral video or service slideshow can be a daunting one, particularly if you don't have any experience in creating videos.
However, Eulogize was created to turn what previously would have been a long, difficult task into a simple one that can actually help families with the grieving process.
In our experience, preparing the memorial video personally, provided an important and highly rewarding moment of reflection. Rather than sending the pictures away to someone you’ve never met to edit. Looking through the pictures, remembering and sharing the moments with family and ultimately, choosing which to use was helpful. It helped us deal with our grief, but also to remember the life we shared.

Here are some basic steps to help you create a meaningful memorial tribute video for your funeral or celebration of life.

Step 1: Collect your photos

This used to be a long difficult process chasing friends & family members to send all the best photos they had in there collection, dealing with email attachments, DropBox links and thumb drives.
Now with Eulogize's easy photo collector, this is straightforward and much faster. Simply enter the email address of everyone you would like to contribute photos, and they will receive a private invitation to contribute. They can do this from any device, computer or mobile, and all the photos will be added to one easy photo gallery for you to select from. You can even do basic photo editing, cropping or rotating.

Step 2: Select your theme

Eulogize has a range of different themes to select from each with their own range of backgrounds, transitions & animations. You can select from very simple subtle themes to bolder themes with more energy and personaliity depending on your personal preference. Simply select which theme you would like to use, then you can add all your photos with one click. From the timeline you can then chose to edit and change the transitions or duration for each photo, our smart editor will keep everything nicely timed and in sync for you. All our video themes can pair up with any printed material you may also be creating for your service from folded funeral booklets to bookmarks or thank you cards.

Step 3: Select your music

Each of our themes comes with a default stock music track. When you add your photos they will be automatically timed to fit equally to the duration of your music. You can change the music at any time, selecting more tracks from our stock music library or selecting no audio mode if you do not wish to have music in your video. You are also able to upload your own music to the platform in the same way you can upload photos, just make sure you have spoken to your arranger or celebrant and confirmed you have the rights to play that track at the service.

Step 4: Choose your background

Each of our themes comes with a beautiful background image or uses the photo itself as its own background. However you may want to explore our library of background images and designs to find something that better tells your loved ones story. You can even upload your own photo to use as a background image.

Step 5: Set your photo order

Our easy video creator lets you add all your photos in just a single click, however you may want to change the order of your photos to better tell your story. It's as simple as dragging the photos into the desired order. You can choose to see more photos per line by clicking the zoom button in the top right corner of the editor.

Step 6: Watch and download

When you are ready, click on the preview button to watch your video. You can even email the preview to family, friends or your celebrant/ arranger to get their feedback. When you are done, click the complete button to download your video as an mp4 video that will play on any device.
